From a small 0.2-hectare plot at 350 meters above sea level, facing southeast and planted with vines averaging 40 years of age, comes this emblematic Pinot Noir from the Jura.
The soils are composed of grey marl with limestone deposits. The grapes are destemmed by hand and undergo a cold maceration at 6°C for around 10 days. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out naturally, with one daily punch-down (“remontage”) for 13 days.
The wine is aged in 500-liter oak barrels (used for a minimum of 4 years) for 8 months. It then undergoes final blending and an additional 3 months of maturation in stainless steel tanks. No filtration or fining is applied.
In the glass, it shows an intense ruby-red color with great density. The nose reveals pronounced aromas of ripe red fruit—especially sour cherry and redcurrant—alongside delicate tertiary notes of leather and subtle smoky hints. On the palate, it is consistent with the nose, with well-integrated tannins.
