“Gaia de Château Puybarbe” is Chateau Puybarbe’s principal wine, fermented and matured in stainless steel. Its blend of 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon yields a medium-bodied, fruit-rich wine. Appearing a medium-intense ruby red, it boasts an intriguing nose of toasty oak, espresso bean, cocoa, ripe blackcurrant, and grilled green chilli pepper with a touch of white pepper. A rounded, well-fruited palate exhibits fine-grained, satiny tannins, which progress into a finish laden with impressions of fruit and spice.
This Bordeaux is best enjoyed in its youth, partnered with roast chicken and veal, or with first courses of meat.
