This red from Costers del Siò, composed of 70% Garnacha and 30% Syrah, is made in a stone lagar, traditional since the 12th century, a technique that yields an authentic wine with a local soul.
Appearing a rich ruby, it boasts intense aromatics, redolent of well-ripened blackberry and dried plum, all lifted by notes of sweet violets ad dried rose petals, and followed by vibrant notes of pepper, black liquorice, and pungent balsam. Well-rounded and full on the palate, it is at the same time crisp yet velvet-textured, and with a fine overall balance of its components.
Delicious with roasts and game, and with aged cheeses.
